AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB Graphics Card Review

F1 2011 is the latest instalment from Codemasters and is based upon the 2011 Formula One season. It utilises the latest DirectX 11 features including shadows, particles and reflections to offer the very best graphics in a fast-paced moving game with depth of field being a key focus. It relies heavily on all aspects of a computer system including GPU and CPU.

F1 2011 showed very similar results, though Eyefinity testing showed a massive increase over other cards and saw an ever so comfortable 51 FPS.

  1. Seems noisy for a 28nm card, Temperatures are lower which should mean the fan should not be that loud. I hope there are better versions out soon and also hope Nvidia doesn't release another 480GTX.
Both manufacturers should spend more money on the cooling side of their cards and not just worrying about e-peen value. Gamers might put up with some noise but those who need high end cards for work don't need a hair dryer pissing them off for 8 hours a day!

Whinging aside, Looks like a great card and look forward to Nvidia's next lot as well to reduce AMD's prices. 😉
