A Closer Look
On the top we see a beautiful full-cover black sticker with the AMD logo in the centre. It’s the usual AMD logo, just with Radeon Solid State Drives added in the text field. The background has a faint pattern giving the disk a great look for windowed placements.
Turning the drive around, we find a big OCZ sticker with all the relevant informations about the drive. Serial and product numbers, driver name and size as well as a QR code and certification logos.
Taking a look inside the drive we see a pretty normal setup. The controller has a heat-pad to connect it to the casing and help to keep it cool. Since this drive is overclocked, this is a extra good idea here.
On the top side of the PCB we find the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller with the custom AMD firmware. Surrounding the controller are 8 Toshiba A19nm NAND flash chips and a little 256MB Micron DRAM chip. And just in case some one still doubts who created this drive, the PCB has OCZ printed on it as well.
Turning the PCB around, we see another 8 chips filled with A19nm Toshiba goodness and another RAM chip. The 16 RAM chips make up a total raw space of 256GB, but the drive has over-provisioning that brings the capacity down to 240GB.
