AMD Radeon RX 6600 and 6600 XT MSRP Leaks
Mike Sanders / 3 years ago
With it looking increasingly likely that AMD will confirm the launch of at least the Radeon RX 6600 XT on August 11th, there is already much anticipation surrounding these new graphics cards. Not just in terms of the performance they might offer, but also in the hope that, unlike everything else that has been released since the latter part of 2020, this GPU might actually be available in decent enough quantities to buy! – Speaking of buying, though, if you were curious as to how much the 6600 and 6600 XT might cost, then following a report via Videocardz, we might at least have the ‘official’ answer.
AMD Radeon RX 6600/6600 XT
Following leaked information citing direct internal sources, it has been claimed that in terms of the official MSRP (and yes, we will go into this shortly), consumers can expect the following prices to be confirmed:
- AMD Radeon RX 6600 – $299.99
- AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT – $349.99
So, on the whole, not bad. Apparently, though, AMD was tempted to push the 6600 XT up to $369.99 but decided against it to give consumers a more clear cost-effective alternative to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. This does, however, beg the question as to just how realistic will those prices be?
Official MSRP VS Reality!
As we have said very often over the last 6 months, it’s still no secret that graphics cards, on the whole, are still a long way away from matching their official MSRP. As such, despite how decent these prices for the 6600 and 6600 XT look here, there are already more than a few suggestions stating that the real price we’ll see will actually be closer to the $400-$500 mark. – This will, however, ultimately boil down to just how in demand these GPUs will be and, given that they’re clearly targeting the mid-tier consumer here, all going well, miners and scalpers will not see this as too attractive a proposition.
