AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT to be Announced on July 30th

Despite the lack of any formal confirmation yet, the writing does appear to be categorically on the wall that AMD will confirm the launch of their Radeon RX 6600 XT on August 11th. – Following a report via Videocardz, however, while that date is apparently still confirmed as the official event, it would seem that the 6600 XT is going to be first announced before the end of this week.

AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT

According to this fresh news, AMD will first confirm the official existence of the Radeon RX 6600 XT at the upcoming Chinajoy 2021 expo being held in Shanghai. Now, in terms of graphic card reveals, this is certainly more than a little unusual as, in the vast majority of cases, most ‘reveals’ are made at the official launch event, which is apparently still scheduled to take place on August 11th.

It would, however, seem that, for reasons unclear, AMD has decided to give consumers at the upcoming Chinajoy event the ‘first look’ at what their brand new mid-tier GPU is capable of. This would, therefore, suggest that the overall key dates for the 6600 XT are as follows:

  • RX 6600 XT Announcement: July 30th
  • RX 6600 XT Unboxing Embargo: August 6th
  • RX 6600 XT Launch: August 11th

What Do We Think?

This is certainly a very bizarre set of circumstances and, we should note, this is still yet to be 100% categorically confirmed. With AMD themselves dropping more than a few hints, however, it does seem that before the end of this week (Friday to be exact), we might finally get some idea as to what level of gaming performance we can expect from AMD’s latest GPU release.

What do you think? – Let us know in the comments!
