You didn’t really think we were going to show you some benchmarks did you? Lord knows I wish I could, but I can’t, or AMD will be slightly annoyed. That being said, we can tell you a few things we ARE doing with this card.
It will be getting tested on our usual GPU test bench, going against the latest and greatest from Nvidia, including the RTX 3090’s, and RTX 3080’s, so it won’t be having an easy fight.
Will will be tested on our usual 3900X test bench, but it will also be getting tested on a new AMD Ryzen 5900X to utilise the new caching technology called “AMD Smart Caching Technology” that AMD are bragging about. It’s said to massively improve the performance of the GPU, so we will explore that.
“In conventional Windows-based PC systems, processors can only access a fraction of graphics memory (VRAM) at once, limiting system performance. With AMD Smart Access Memory, the data channel gets expanded to harness the full potential of GPU memory, utilizing the bandwidth of PCI Express® to remove the bottlenecks and increase performance.” – AMD
We will be testing ray tracing and similar technologies against Nvidia. However, we’re still working out which games will and won’t work with both brands ray-tracing technologies. It’s early days, so that’s fine.
Finally, we’ve introduced a bunch of new games too! So aside from our usual suite of games and synthetic benchmarks, we’ll also have 1080p, 1440p, and 4K performance in the following games:
- Watch Dogs Legion
- Dirt 5
- Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
- Godfall
