Radeon RX 7900 XT
The fan unit is a single piece, with the fans mounted on the shroud. This makes it much easier to remove from the GPU itself.
Radeon RX 7900 XTX
The XT features 80mm fans, but the XTX has slightly larger 84mm fans and is about 1cm longer overall.

Most of the GPUs we’ve seen in the past have a two-part heatsink linked with heatpipes. However both the XT and the XTX have this truly stunning single radiator design, with virtually no space wasted.

There’s a little more mass on the XTX compared to the XT, which combined with the slightly larger fans, will help with those higher clock speeds.

The other main difference is the memory configuration, with the XT having 20GB, and while the heatsink is the same size, there are two missing thermal pads where the extra chips aren’t.
Radeon RX 7900 XTX
As you can see, all 12 pads are featured on the XTX.

The PCB doesn’t look all that unlike any other we’ve seen in recent years, but that’s no bad thing. Both cards have a large RDNA3 chip in the middle, with little difference in them visually. There are a few tiny differences though, such as one fewer VRM/Choke on the XT on the left.

Plus, the XTX has all 12 chips for GDDR6 installed, that’s 12 x 2GB giving us 24GB total, compared to the 20GB of the XT. I do wonder if you could solder some on yourself on the XT, we have seen people try similar before. Strangely the capacitors are in a different configuration near the power connector, but both cards still have 9 of them.
