AMD Radeon VII 7nm Graphics Card Review

The model we got is a media review kit, so admittedly, it looks a bit more swag than what consumers gets. That being said, most consumers will likely buy a branded one from Gigabyte, ASUS, etc, but while the box changes, the GPU its self remains identical.

Opening it up, we see lots of padding, with the GPU at the top, and a rather heavy stand at the bottom for display purposes. Retail cards will not come with this stand. There’s a little hole for some AAA batteries, but it’s empty.

The batteries go in the bottom of the stand here.

Unfortunately, the last person to test the thing knicked the batteries, doh! Fortunately, I had some spare though, so we didn’t have to cancel the whole review haha.

The powered base features a small RGB light that looks pretty cool, although it’s not overly bright. However, I love that AMD had done something just a little different here, as they often do with their big review kits actually.

What’s really cool is that there is a dummy chip in the base. Here we can see the design of their new 7nm chip that is featured in this GPU. It doesn’t tell you much about it, but it’s a lovely bit of tech porn for sure.

Obviously, the GPU will sit nicely on the top of it. So, let’s do just that!
