AMD Releases New Adrenalin and AFMF 2 Drivers for Space Marine 2

AMD has released a significant update for gamers playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, introducing an off-branch Adrenalin 24.10.37.10 Preview Driver. This release addresses several critical issues, including intermittent driver timeouts during gameplay. In addition to optimizing gameplay for Space Marine 2, the drivers also fix graphical issues in Black Myth: Wukong that caused overly dark shadows and desaturated colors.
The main highlight of this driver update, however, is the extension of AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 support for the Vulkan API in Counter-Strike 2. AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 helps reduce system latency, making online multiplayer more responsive for players using AMD RDNA architecture-based graphics products. Players can monitor their latency using the built-in Frame Latency Meter (FLM) or the Anti-Lag 2 latency monitor.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 Update Focuses on Stability
In a related update, AMD also released an update for its AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) 2 Technical Preview. This update addresses stability issues and includes optimizations for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. As Space Marine 2 only supports AMD FSR 2, the update enables users to experience the game with Frame Generation, which is crucial for smoother gameplay.
However, AFMF 2 update doesn’t introduce new features but fixes key issues like AFMF becoming inactive with specific overlays or performance metrics not displaying correctly. Although it doesn’t fully match engine-level Frame Generation in technologies like FSR 3+, it still provides an optimized experience for users who can’t leverage native support for Frame Generation.
