AMD have priced up the previously leaked Ryzen 3 1200 and 1300X quad core processors. With an incredibly enticing price tag of only $109 and 129 for the 1200 and 1300X respectively.
The 1200 and 1300X were accidentally announced during AMD’s announcement of Ryzen Pro SKUs on June 29. Of course, everything needs a price. And they have certainly priced it well! Pricing information was leaked via Reddit. However, whilst not confirmed as of yet, this is from an apparent distributor in the user’s country.
Ryzen 3 1200 and 1300X respectively are quad core chips, originally rumoured to be HTPC-only Processors. However, the reality is much the opposite. These chips are in fact very impressive budget units. The 1200 features a 3.1 GHz quad core die with no SMT for 4 cores and 4 threads, with a maximum turbo clock of 3.4 GHz with a 2mb/8mb L2/L3 cache. The TDP is a very low 65W. The 1300X features a 3.5 GHz base clock, with a maximum turbo of 3.7 GHz. The same cache and TDP remain in the latter model.
The 1200 is priced at $109 before tax, Of course, that puts it straight in line with the i5 3570k off the bat. When you consider that the 3570k scores 7151 points on CPU Mark, the 7043 score of the 1200 seems somewhat more enticing. The 1200 is lining up to be the perfect medium load gaming processor for the serious budget conscious builds. What’s even more enticing is that the i7 2600 is only just holding its own. The 1300X has yet to be benchmarked. However, if the 1200’s impressive performance is anything to go by, It will certainly be a very competitive thorn in Intels side.
AMD are releasing the Ryzen 3 1200 and 1300X on the 27th of July 2017. With such a low price tag, Ryzen is finally making the gaming PC market much more accessible. Combine the 1200 or the 1300x with an RX 460/560 then you have a very respectable machine on a low budget. Will you be putting your hands in your wallets for the Ryzen 3?
