Now we’re onto the good stuff with gaming tests, and we have some very interesting results to share with you. At stock 1080p in pretty much every test, the CPU does a fairly decent job. Of course, it’s lagging behind the big and expensive Intel chips on this chart, but well… duh! Keep an eye on the FPS average, it’s pretty decent overall. Overclocking brought a good gain in every single test too, showing that you can get more FPS from this budget chip.
Then things get extremely interesting. Dial the resolution up to 4K and the 1300X is keeping up and even competiting with the big boys. It just goes to show that with most modern games, those extra cores aren’t worth that much. Of course, the GTX 1080 Ti we’re doing needs to do the bulk of the lifting, so long as you’ve got a CPU that’s not causing throttling, you’re fine, and the 1300X clearly isn’t thottling the GPU here.
