Eager to get your hands on the upcoming Ryzen 5 CPUs from AMD? I’m sure many of you are, and I know I certainly am. The new chips promise to bring 6-core CPUs are incredible prices, and are expected to be the mass-market gaming chips we’ve been waiting for, and offer stern competition for the current crop of Intel CPUs in terms of performance and even more so in terms of price.
Some lucky redditors, however, are reporting that they haven’t got to wait any longer, as some retailers have been selling the new CPUs early, despite the fact that there are three weeks left on the sales embargo. Heck, we’re not even allowed to review them yet, that’s how early they’re out on sale!
What does this mean now? Leak time! With the hardware out in the wild now, it’s only a matter of days, if not hours, before we start seeing benchmarks from users.
It’s not been made clear which stores, but it’s most likely that it’s a few smaller retail stores with stock rather than online. If you’re eager to get one, maybe take a trip down to your nearest hardware retailer, put on your friendly face and say “PLEASE”, you might get the Ryzen 5 early too.
