Over the weekend information leaked online suggesting that as part of their CES 2023 announcements, AMD would confirm the launch of their new Ryzen 7000 X3D processors. – This was particularly interesting as not only did these seem to be arriving much sooner than we’d expected, but more so, it seemed that the event was set to be very busy for Team Red with both these and their non-X Ryzen 7000 CPUs now apparently on the agenda.
Following a report via Videocardz, however, information has appeared online suggesting that AMD is putting X3D in the front seat as the non-X Ryzen 7000 processors are now not expected to be launched until after CES 2023. Albeit, just a few days after.
Based on the current information, it seems that AMD will use their upcoming Ryzen 7000 X3D processors as their keynote reveal with their non-X series now apparently pushed back slightly for a post-CES launch on January 10th.
Why would AMD do this though? Well, comparatively speaking, Ryzen 7000 X3D is clearly a bigger and far more interesting launch event for consumers than the relatively simple, and somewhat predictable, non-X platform. As such, it does make sense that AMD will want to primarily focus on X3D without having too many distractions from models which are clearly nowhere near as sexy in terms of marketing.
Put simply though, it seems that both Ryzen 7000 X3D and non-X CPUs will both be launching in the early part of January 2023. Just expect the former to happen before the latter!
