AMD Ryzen 7700X Benchmarked on CPU-Z and GeekBench (With Impressive Results)

With AMD set to release its initial series of Ryzen 7000 processors later this month, it’s hardly a surprise that we’re thoroughly in the realms of leaks and performance figures leaking online. Such is the situation ahead of any major tech release. – So, what do we have this time around? Well, following a report via Videocardz, it would appear that the Ryzen 7700X has been benchmarked in both CPU-Z and Geekbench, and if the results are accurate, then we’re looking at an exceptionally impressive performance leap from Ryzen 5000.

AMD Ryzen 7700X Benchmarked!

We would start by admitting that this is potentially a lot more interesting than prior leaks from the 7950X as, well… the 7700X is undoubtedly the more affordable, and by proxy, tempting proposition for many consumers looking for a few more cores than the 7600X while not destroying the bank balance in the process.

So, with this in mind, what do the results tell us? – Well, overall, the Ryzen 7700X is going to be an excellent processor.

Not descriptive enough? Ok, well while you are free to do a deep dive yourself, the bottom line is that despite being a generational tier lower than the 5800X, it might absolutely smash it in comparative performance. – An overview of the numbers suggests the following:

Ryzen 7700X

Single Core

  • 21% faster than Ryzen 5800X
  • 20% faster than 5950X
  • 1% faster than Intel i9-12600K

Multi-Core

  • 1% faster than the i9-12900K
  • 8% faster than the i7-12700K
  • 28% faster than the 5800X

A Small Caveat

It should, of course, be noted that in some respects the 7700X will have some advantages. Namely, the fact that it has DDR5 memory to work with. How big an impact will this have had? Hard to day. Given that there are plenty of results from high-speed DDR4 modules though, we’d be willing to say that the comparisons provided above are looking pretty good.

What do you think though? Are you interested in a Ryzen 7000 processor? If so, which model currently has your attention? – Let us know in the comments!
