AMD Ryzen PRO 5000G Series Specs Leak!
Mike Sanders / 4 years ago
With the AMD Ryzen PRO 5000G APU processors expected to be released in the coming weeks, there is clearly a lot of interest in these new models and particularly so given that they will not only feature AMD’s new(ish) Zen 3 architecture but also their (much better than you might expect) Vega-based integrated graphics architecture. It is, after all, hard enough to get a processor at the moment, let alone a dedicated graphics card to go with it!
Well, following a report via Videocardz, specifications of the AMD Ryzen PRO 5000G series have leaked online but, by and large, we’ve not been given too much of a surprise here.
AMD Ryzen PRO 5000G
In a nutshell, it would appear that the AMD Ryzen PRO 5000G models will have exactly the same core count and clock speeds as their non-pro counterparts. So, with this in mind, what exactly is the purpose of the ‘PRO’ models? Well, while we expect there to be a few tweaks here and there, the biggest difference largely lies in areas that are not particularly important for general gaming consumers but more so for business customers.
Namely, that the ‘PRO’ models will feature enhanced levels of security (which can presumably be subject to greater configuration) as well as coming with longer than standard support.
What Do We Think?
As a general gaming consumer, the Ryzen 5000G series is definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for a new processor, but are currently having more than a few difficulties finding ‘normal’ 5000 processors currently available to buy (or at least as a reasonable price). – With their release expected in the coming weeks, therefore, rest assured as soon as samples arrive, we’ll be ready to tell you just how good they are!
