AMD Ryzen Processor Box Art Revealed

Within the next two weeks or so, AMD will have launched their new Ryzen processors. Based off of their new Zen architecture, the processors are set to return AMD to the forefront of the x86 CPU market. As such a major rebirth of the company’s offerings, it’s fitting that the brand gets a facelift as well. Luckily for us, we now have Ryzen box art from the latest retail listings.

Straight from a Thailand retailer, we can see that AMD has changed the design overall but the basic principles are the same. The box art itself is quite simple, with the now familiar orange Ryzen logo on a black background. AMD has kept the black theme going from their current lineup though the red is conspicuously missing. Based on the size, we can expect the boxes to contain a stock heatsink. Interestingly, the processors like the R7 1800X which are not expected to have a heatsink fan share the same box size as the rest. This may be due to lazy work on the part of the retailer or they may just contain a cardboard insert.

In addition to the box art, we are getting more confirmation about the clock speeds. The octa-core R7 1800X clocks in at 3.6 GHz boosting to 4.0 GHz while the R7 1700 and 1700X come in 300 and 200 MHz slower respectively. The hexacore R5 1600X clocks in at 3.3 GHz base and 3.7 GHz boost while the R7 1500 comes in 200 MHz slower. The quad-core R5 1400X comes in at 3.5 GHz boosting to 3.9 GHz while the R3 1300 clocks in at 3.2 GHz and 3.5 GHz. Lastly, the SMT-disabled quad-cores R3 1200X comes in at 3.4 GHz/3.8GHz and the R3 1100 at 3.2 GHz/3.5 GHz for base/boost respectively.
