This is where the 2990WX falls flat on its 64 thread face. Games just aren’t built to utilise this kind of hardware. Of course, we wish they were, and that may change in the future, in fact, it will change. However, the gaming performance is perfectly OK, it’s just not a gaming CPU at all. I did some 4K testing though, albeit with no real comparison to provide you right now, and it’s much more competitive in GPU bound rendering. However, it’s not like anyone is buying this as a gaming CPU. Even in Gaming Mode (not shown here), I don’t think the performance improvements were anything special.
