AMD Ryzen R7 1700, 1700X, 1800X UK Prices Leaked

With the EU and US prices leaked already, it’s time for the UK to join in on the fun. So far the earlier leaks have all pointed to the flagship R7 1800X 8 core 16 thread CPU to come in at or under $500. With the new UK GBP price leaks, it almost seems certain that AMD plans to undercut Intel by about half the price.
For the UK prices, we have two different retailer listings, one with VAT and the other excluding VAT. Without VAT the R7 1700 costs £235.5, the 1700X comes in at £283.31 and the 1800X at £366.65. Once we throw in VAT as well, the R7 1700 comes in a £311.81, the 1700X at £375.19 and the 1800X at £480.84. Compared to the prices Intel charges for the octa-core i7 6800K, these chips are cheaper by at least half as much. The 1800X comes in around the hexacore i7 6800K and the R7 1700 about where the i7 7700K sits. With a smaller core size and 14nm process, it looks like AMD is setting Ryzen up to seize marketshare and mindshare first rather than simple profits.
In addition to the pricing, we are also getting some more confirmation about the specifications. The R7 1700 clocks in at 3.7 GHz base, the 1700X a 100 MHz higher at 3.8 GHz and the 1800X tops the pack at 4 GHz. All 3 Ryzen chips also feature 20MB of L3 unlike the ES chips which sometimes only have 16MB of L3. This is a bit different than the engineering samples used in the benchmarks floating around so retail Ryzen should impress even more. Since we now know the stock heatsink lineup tops off at the Wraith, the fact that only the R7 1700 has the Wraith listed as well suggests the X chips won’t ship with a stock heatsink.
