This weekend saw the release of the latest AMD Software Adrenalin drivers, with this update bringing us up to version 22.10.2 WHQL. Of course, these updates usually bring a suite of fixes for major and minor issues alike, as well as hopefully improving the overall performance of a few titles. However, this update seems less focused on gaming, and addresses quite a few video playback issues.
From top to bottom, it looks like the Radeon Super resolutions issue with HDR settings on certain games has now been resolved, which is excellent! The Vertical Refresh Sync issue that was causing video playback issues is now resolved, as is the driver timeout while using HEVC. There’s also a fix for Chromium-based browsers stuttering issues, so overall, quite a lot of video playback issues are resolved there. There’s also a fix for the Oculus Dashboard for Oculus Quest 2 and some colouring issues in VEGAS pro.
There are still some known issues though, which will hopefully be addressed in the next update. If you want to update you can download the drivers from AMD here or use the software update feature from within Windows.
