AMD is gearing up to launch its next-generation Ryzen Zen 5 CPUs in August, according to multiple reports. This upcoming release is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.
What to Expect from the New CPUs
The new Ryzen Zen 5 processors are expected to bring significant improvements in performance and efficiency. These CPUs will be based on the Zen 5 core architecture, promising better performance than previous generations. AMD has not released specific details yet, but the anticipation is high.
Ryzen AI and Strix Point Mobile Processors
Alongside the desktop CPUs, AMD plans to launch Ryzen AI and Strix Point mobile processors. These processors are also slated for an August release. They will likely enhance mobile computing with better AI capabilities and improved performance.
Reports indicate that the Zen 5 CPUs will also feature in mini PCs. This move aims to cater to a growing market for compact yet powerful computing solutions. Mini PC manufacturer AOOSTAR has mentioned that they expect to ship their first Mini PCs featuring the Strix lineup by October.
AMD’s Strix APUs will come in two variants. The standard design will feature 12 CPU cores and 16 RDNA 3+ iGPU cores. The higher-end Strix Halo chips will have up to 16 cores and 40 RDNA 3+ iGPU cores. These high-end chips might not be widely available until late 2024 or early 2025.
As the launch date approaches, motherboard manufacturers are updating their products to support the new CPUs. Some have even revealed the Ryzen 9000 series branding for these new chips. AMD’s Computex 2024 keynote on June 3rd is expected to be packed with Zen 5 announcements. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new products.
