AMD to lose their chief marketing officer in January 2012

As announced in a tweet yesterday, Nigel Dessau, current Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of AMD, is set to retire from his position sometime in January of 2012.

At his current position, Dessau is responsible for the AMD’s global marketing, image and campaign strategies. He joined AMD in March 2008 and it appears he is going to exit the scene next month after more than three years of service.

Later during the same day of his announcement, Dessau also announced that he will not be attending CES 2012.

Since AMD’s Chief Executive Rory Read took control, changes to the executive team have been made and this is likely another change that he backed.

We certainly wish Nigel Dessau the best of luck in his future plans.
