AMD to Reportedly Launch New Entry-Level RX 7400 and RX 7300 GPUs

AMD is reportedly developing two new entry-level graphics cards, the Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300, which will feature the Navi 33 GPU. These new additions aim to provide affordable options for gamers and PC builders looking for budget-friendly upgrades.

Targeting Budget Gamers

The Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 are set to expand AMD’s RDNA 3 lineup, providing alternatives to NVIDIA’s entry-level offerings like the RTX 3050. According to leaks, these GPUs will use a scaled-down version of the Navi 33 chip, currently seen in higher-end models like the RX 7600. The RX 7400 is expected to have between 1,024 and 1,792 shader cores and may come with either a 128-bit or 96-bit memory interface. It will likely feature 6GB to 8GB of VRAM. The RX 7300, a more cost-effective option, may include fewer shader cores and a 64-bit memory interface.

Both cards aim to improve on previous models such as the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400, which faced criticism for limited features and performance. The new GPUs will likely retain full video encoding hardware acceleration, including support for AV1 encoding, which enhances their appeal for content creators and streamers.

If these rumors are accurate, AMD could unveil these new models at CES 2025, alongside their upcoming RDNA 4 series. This launch strategy could help AMD gain traction in the entry-level market, providing more options for gamers looking for budget-friendly yet capable graphics solutions.
