AMD 6700 XT Release Date Leaks! – 6700 (Non-XT) Delayed?

Earlier this week, we got the rather exciting news that after months of speculation, the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card would officially be launched during a (likely pre-recorded) event on March 3rd. At the time, however, we couldn’t help but notice that there was nothing mentioned regarding the standard 6700 model despite the announcement. I mean, we presumed it would also be launched at the same time, but there was certainly nothing to confirm that categorically.

Well, following a report via Videocardz, inside sources are claiming that AMD will not be launching the 6700 on the March 3rd event and, in fact, they are even going as far as to speculate that it may have been delayed from the actual intended date!

AMD Radeon 6700 XT? – Yes! 6700? – No!

Following the report, it has been suggested that AMD was planning to launch the 6700 on March 15th. So, basically just under two weeks after the 6700 XT was revealed. However, it seems that AMD has now decided to push that date back for reasons unclear. Possibly until much later in the month or even early April.

On the plus side, however, the source has said that the 6700 XT will be officially announced for release (in other words, available to purchase) on March 18th! Even then though, the news isn’t overly promising!

Yet More Stock Issues

So, the standard 6700 has (probably) been delayed, but on the plus side, we still have the 6700 XT to look forward to, right?… – Well, apparently not! Retailers are already making claims that the allocated stock of reference models is disturbingly low. For example, it is understood that only 100 models have been allocated for France on its release date. A factor that certainly doesn’t bode well for the rest of the world.

So, the 6700 XT will be launched on March 3rd, (probably) released on March 18th, but the chances of us finding one available to purchase at a reasonable price for the immediate future looks incredibly slim. So, in other words, business as usual based on what we’ve encountered with practically everything tech-related since last Autumn!
