It seems that the first ‘official’ driver from AMD with Mantle and TrueAudio support doesn’t come from AMD itself. Toshiba, the multinational engineering and electronics corporation, seems to be
the first to leak the driver onto the Internet.
However, there is some bad news to all of this. Since it was uploaded on the Toshiba website, it has been bundled with Toshiba support and would only work on their notebooks. Anyone interested in fiddling can do so, but if you only know how to do it. Or else, it’s pointless.
The second things is that it will have a Toshiba installer, which will most likely check to see if you have a Toshiba branded motherboard. And if you don’t, then there’s no go on the installation side. Also, it is a 316-megabytes installer and reports say that it can be confirmed as being the 13.35 driver, though no visible signs of the TrueAudio or Mantle API.
Even if the driver includes a Mantle API, as everyone is keen on seeing it in action, there is no way in testing it on anyway. Those of you interested in downloading the 316 Megabytes driver can do so from here. However, the news also confirms that the official launch is just around the corner. Hopefully Battlefield 4 will receive the Mantle update soon as well.
