The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE is effectively a cut down variant of the RX 7900 XT with the GRE naming, which stands for Golden Rabbit Edition. Originally this was thought to be exclusive to the Chinese market, however it has made its way over to Europe and now the UK albeit with limited offerings.
As spotted by Techpowerup, a listing for an XFX RX 7900 GRE was seen on AWD-IT UK which as of writing doesn’t have a product page but will appear in the search results. The card is listed for £659, a fair bit cheaper than AWD-IT’s current cheapest GIGABYTE GAMING OC RX 7900 XT model at £775.95. Now this card has been at other stores across Europe though the stock is said to be quite poor so it’s unclear how much effort is being put into this rollout and whether it will be more consistent in the future.
The RX 7900 GRE is a cut down version of the RX 7900 XT using the Navi 31 XL GPU with 80 CUs compared to the XT’s 84, 5120 Stream processors compared to the XT’s 5376, a slower boost clock of 2.2 GHz compared to the XT’s 2.4, and reduced VRAM of 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus compared to the XT’s 20GB on a 320-bit bus, it also uses less power.
