AMD’s Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs Expected to Match Ryzen 7000 Prices
Solomon Thompson / 7 months ago
According to recent reports, AMD‘s upcoming Ryzen 9000 series CPUs will have the same prices as the current Ryzen 7000 series. This news is based on leaks and rumors that indicate AMD’s new processors will not come with a price hike.
No Price Increase for New Ryzen CPUs
AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series will be priced similarly to the Ryzen 7000 series. This means the Ryzen 9 9950X should retail at $699, offering 16 cores. The Ryzen 9 9900X is expected to cost $549 with 12 cores. The Ryzen 7 9700X should be priced at $399 with 8 cores, and the Ryzen 5 9600X at $299 with 6 cores.
This pricing strategy keeps AMD competitive against Intel’s 14th Gen CPUs. The Ryzen 9000 series will provide significant performance improvements, including higher clock speeds and architectural enhancements. These improvements are expected to deliver better single-threaded performance, which is crucial for many applications.
Specifications and Expectations
The Ryzen 9000 series, codenamed Granite Ridge, will be based on the Zen 5 architecture. These CPUs are anticipated to debut at Computex 2024. They will support DDR5 memory and be compatible with existing AM5 platforms. The Ryzen 9 9950X, for example, is expected to feature up to 5.7 GHz boost clocks and 64 MB of L3 cache.
