Since the graphics cards will obscure this part of the build a little once complete, I figured it would be good to show an in-progress shot. The Micro-ATX motherboard fit easily enough, although I would suggest you install your CPU cooler prior to installing the motherboard, as it would be hard work inside the chassis. There’s a few trailing cables from the front panel, but nothing a couple of cable ties couldn’t tidy up easily enough.
I managed to install a pair of Sapphire R9 270X Toxic graphics cards in this chassis with relative ease.
It was a little tricky getting the power connectors in place, but this would be easier with the 5.25″ drive bay removed; it’s really up to you if you want to leave it in place.
Despite the huge cooler design, these cards fit with ease, which is good news for those wanting to cram a high-end card, or two, into this chassis.
Still unsure what to make of this unused space, sure it leave room for heat to get out from the storage drives, but more storage drive or a movable storage bay would have been a better use of this.
As you can see, the PSU mounts on its side and there’s loads of room in there for excess cables, although cables to have to travel a long way to the GPUs, so keep a few cable ties handy or things could get messy quite quickly.
The cable routing holes are straining a bit here, but overall the motherboard area is free from obstructions, so that’s certainly going to help with airflow to the CPU.
All panels back in place and we can certainly show off our lovely GPU cooler design. Not sure I really want to see the hard drive bays though, or the back of the PSU, so perhaps a smaller window would be smarter, or at least something to occupy that empty space in the bottom.
