Anidées AI-6B Mid-Tower Chassis Review

The overall design of the chassis is kept simple and elegant but this is not to mean that there is not a lot to look at. One side of the chassis is plain with no branding, fans or ventilation grills.

The other side of the chassis is very much the same with the version we have here, only difference being a subtle Anidées branding in the bottom right corner. The other option for this side is to have a perspex window installed, this is featured as the AI-6BW.

The front of the case is kept to a clean design with the application of a full length door. This can be fitted to open from either side simply by unhooking it at one end and lifting it out, then the reverse on the other side to refit. Up the middle of the door and along the top of the chassis is a brushed aluminium sheet which adds a touch of style to the chassis design.

With the door open, we have access to the three drive bays, each closed off my a replaceable cover. Each of these faceplates also double up as a 3.5″ drive surround by removing the mesh part from the centre. Below this is a mesh grill for drawing fresh air into the chassis, the door itself is recessed on the inside so any fan controllers etc that have switches or other controls the protrude from the surface do not stop the door from closing.

Around the aluminium panel is a recess which has vents along its entirety to allow for airflow in/ out of the chassis.

The front panel connectors are located on the top of the case towards the front and alongside the standard power & reset buttons, activity LEDs and audio jacks are a number or USB connections. Four of these are of the standard USB 2.0 factor whilst the other 2 are USB 3.0. Sufficient spacing has been left between each of the ports to allow for bulky USB flash drives to be connected without obstructing access to any of the other ports.

The rear of the case is a no thrills affair with space with 9 expansion slots; one of which is located perpendicular to the others for mounting a fan controller or other connectivity panel that would otherwise block access to required slots needed for multi card setups. The power supply bay has screw holes sufficient enough to give the option of mounting a PSU fan side up or fan side down depending on the users preference. Also included above the rear 120mm exhaust fan are 3 rubber grommets for passing cables or water cooling tubes through neatly.

The base of the chassis is lifted of the ground by around 1″ to allow a reasonable airflow channelled from the rear.
