Antec AX90 Mid-Tower Case Review

Complete System

The Antec AX90 is a very competent case, and a lot of high-end hardware is easily supported thanks to its larger, but not overly large interior design. As you can see, an ATX motherboard is supported, and the overall cable routing options are excellent, however, there are just a lot of cables in a small space, so some corners do look a little busy. I would have liked some cable grommets, but honestly, they’re hardly needed, it’s just a preference of mine.

I had a bit of a clean up at the back, but it’s really hard to get the cables out of the way of the side fan mounts, which is a shame.

The case will support up to a 160mm CPU tower cooler, so even most of the largest models on the market should fit with relative ease and the GPU length is great too, offering up room for up to 385mm cards, the majority of the largest RTX 4090 cards should fit in here just fine, albeit at the cost of adding a thicker radiator in the front or side mounts.

I love that there’s so much room to expand the cooling configuration in this case. However, I suspect most consumers will be more than happy with the 3 fans in and 1 fan out default configuration. Plus, having all that passive heat exhaust up top is going to bring its own benefits too.

The PSU shroud and rear SSD mounts are nice too, hiding a lot of the less exciting hardware and cables out of sight, but also ensuring the front airflow is largely uninterrupted. What cables were messy on the darker corners of the interior are pretty much impossible to see once the build is complete anyway. It looks great, and it performs great too, so a big thumbs up to Antec for the overall design.

Of course, with three RGB fans in the front, one in the back, and a large tempered glass window, this isn’t exactly a subtle PC case. Even with the fans turned off, the front panel grabs your attention. However, with it all lit up, it’s a stunning attraction for those who like the visual aspect of a high-end gaming PC. If subtle is your style, this isn’t the PC case for you.
