Both of the new Antec coolers are priced to appeal to a wide audience. The Antec C400 with its 120mm fan is priced at just £33.42, while the smaller C40 Pro is just £25.99. For any system builder, that’s pretty fantastic value for money. The C40 Pro is only +1c warmer than the popular Hyper 212, and it’s a few pounds cheaper too.

So there we have it, two solid coolers and two very appealing prices. While Antec hasn’t been at the forefront of CPU coolers for a while, it’s nice to see they’ve still got a few tricks to create some competitive coolers. While neither of the coolers sets a new standard, offers any kind of innovation, they get the job done pretty well.

Both coolers managed to handle the stock CPU very well, and the larger C400 kept going strong in our overclocking test too. Those building on a tighter budget, with lower TDP coolers, or just in a smaller chassis will certainly be interested in the C40 Pro. Those building higher specification gaming systems will find a lot to love about the C400.

Perfect for budget focused gaming builds

Aesthetically, both coolers are quite simple. However, they’re not exactly ugly either. They both feature a fairly similar design, with tower coolers, four thick heat pipes, and a black finish top panel. They look smart enough to be a compliment to any system build. Of course, the real visual attraction is the sleek black fans with their subtle blue LED lighting. Sure, RGB is nice, but a little bit of colour is often welcome, even if it’s a fixed one.

Built quality is durable throughout, and while the mounting kit looks a bit plastic heavy, it’s surprisingly competent and secure. It’s also incredibly easy to mount these coolers. You don’t need any tools and they’re very beginner friendly overall.
