Antec DP505 White Mid-Tower E-ATX Case Review

A Closer Look – Interior

With the tempered glass removed, the interior of the Antec DP505 looks absolutely stunning. As you can see, it’s pretty much entirely white in here, so it really is rather striking. Many white PC cases still come with black fittings and grommets, which look fine, but this just looks better. There’s a good amount of space in here too, and with E-ATX motherboard support, and a good amount of length, the latest GPUs should fit well enough too.

Tired of sagging graphics cards? There’s a built-in anti-sag bracket here, ensuring things stay straight and true.

There’s plenty of room in the front too, as the front fans are actually mounted outside of the main cage of the chassis, but under the front panel mesh. As you can see, there’s a nice cut-away in the PSU shroud too, so you can use that full height for fans/radiators, maximising your cooling potential.

In the rear, there’s room for an additional cooling fan, but there isn’t one fitted as standard.

There’s room again at the top for fans and radiators. Now, with three fans bringing air in, cooling shouldn’t be an issue here. However, with the rear vent and the top vent, heat should be able to leave the system passively and with help from those front fans anyway.

There are a good few cable grommets throughout the case, allowing you to very easily keep your build neat and tidy. I like that there’s a secondary set too, as larger motherboards are likely to cover up the first set, while ATX motherboards can use the first set; they’ve thought of everything really.

There are a few large routing holes up top too, so those CPU 8-pin cables should route very easily. Plus, it looks like there’s good clearance at the top, so any larger motherboard VRM shouldn’t conflict with top-mounted fans.

The PSU shroud is nice and robust, with plenty of ventilation ensuring you don’t get any heat trapped in odd places. Plus, it has one of my all-time favourite features, a vertical pass-through for the GPU power cable.

Behind the motherboard, Antec has given the DP505 plenty of cable routing space. Plus, with the PSU shroud, you can cram a lot of excess cables down there anyway, making it even easier to get good-looking cable management.

Behind the motherboard, you’ll find two quick-release 2.5″ SSD mounts, allowing you to stealth mount a couple of drives quickly and easily.

There is a built-in PWM fans hub, with ARGB control too. The three pre-installed ARGB fans are already wired in, but the hub will support three more, giving you a total of six.

Under the shroud, there’s a HDD cage, which supports up to 2 x 3.5″ drives. The tray can be moved into one of three positions, one near the front, one near the middle, and one where you take it out and throw it in a cupboard and forget about it. Either way, you’ll easily be able to find room for additional cooling hardware and large PSUs should you need it.
