The Antec DP505 may be a mid-tower PC case, but it’s a little on the larger side, without being as big as a full-tower. This is a good thing though, as with modern graphics cards getting larger, having that extra space is going to be very beneficial.
There’s plenty of room around the GPU, which is good news for those with larger power connectors to liquid cooling runs that need to be navigated around the main components. Even the latest Nvidia RTX 4090 will fit, that includes the Founder Edition, right up to the largest one we know of, the ASUS STRIX RTX 4090. Plus, the vertical cable routing hole in the PSU is a big advantage, keeping the cable runs tidy and short.
The large cable grommets located to the right of the motherboard look great too. So many PC cases used to feature grommets, but many brands seem to have ditched them in recent years, which is a shame, as I really like them.
The angled design of these top routing holes works well too, so many cases make routing the CPU power cables a bit of a nightmare, but they’re easily handled here. Plus, as you can see, there’s good clearance around the top of the motherboard too, helping to reduce any conflicts with cooling hardware.
For your CPU cooler, you’ll find room for something up to 170mm, so even the larger Noctua D15/D15S should fit with ease, and certainly, my U12S fits even easier. If you did want to liquid cool your system, with room for 2 x 360mm radiators in the front and top, and I guess even a 120mm in the back if you really needed it, you can certainly get everything you need from the DP505.
The only thing that’s left are those ARGB fans, and wow, do they look fantastic. The case lights up so nicely thanks to the all-white interior, which captures and reflects the light so nicely.
Plus, with the full-mesh front panel, you can really see the colours here at the front.
The X design may not be to everyone’s taste, but then again, it doesn’t have to be. I really like it, and I love the way the unique shape of the mesh breaks up the view of the fans, and gives it some really cool highs and lows.
It may not be understated with its brighter design, but it’s certainly stylish!
