The Antec DP505 is available now from many major retailers and at the time of writing it was around £90/$125 on Amazon. That’s not a bargain, but it’s pretty good value for money given the overall size of the case and the features it has to offer. Keep in mind you do get three lovely ARGB fans pre-installed, as well as that PWM ARGB 6-port fan hub.
Antec has been making PC cases for longer than I can remember. Even when I was a spotty teenager, I was building my first computers in Antec cases. Sure, that was a longer time ago than I’d care to remember, but with all those years of experience, it’s no surprise that Antec are really hitting the market today. The DP505 doesn’t really offer much in the way of innovation, but it doesn’t really have to either. It’s got all the features I want in a PC case in all the right places. Plus, with change from £100, it’s a solid investment for those building a high-end gaming PC.
What really stands out about the Antec DP505 is that it quite literally stands out. This is not a subtle PC case, and it’s going to attract some looks no matter where you put it. Actually, if you plan to tuck this into a dark corner behind your desk, it’s a wasted investment. This is a bright, clean, stylish and cool looking PC case that deserves to be out on show. Having those ARGB fans on the front adds some overall visual customisation, but because the interior is all-white too, they light up your entire build easily enough.
There are a lot of little details though, and they’re what really make the DP505 stand out to me. The cable grommets are a welcome addition, keeping the interior looking neat and tidy. There’s a vertical pass-through for the GPU PSU cables, which I think all PC cases should have. The front fans are pre-installed, and are fitted outside the chassis frame, making room for even the latest RTX 4090 GPUs. There are good quality mesh filters where you need them. And the SSD and HDD mounts are really easy to move in and out fo the case.
If you’re looking for a stylish PC case that really pops, the Antec DP505 White is hard to beat. It supports big hardware, lots of cooling, and it’s really easy to work with, making it a great choice for both first-time system builders and seasoned pros. Plus, it has a big X shape on the front, and I think that gives it a cool retro look.
