Antec EarthWatts Platinum 650W Review

A Closer Look – Exterior
The top is plain matte black with a 120mm fan that has hexagonal mesh.
The bottom is also matte black and is entirely plain. The unit measures in at 150 by 86 by 140mm (W x H x D).
The side of the power supply has the label with all the power details on it.
The other side is mostly plain with a raised Antec logo breaking the monotony.
Being a non modular power supply the cable end has no modular connectors just a single clump of hard-wired cables.
The rear has hexagonal mesh, a kettle lead input and a power switch.
The unit is non-modular meaning everything is hard wired.
You get the following connectors with this power supply:
- 1 x 24 pin motherboard connector
- 1 x 8 pin (4+4) CPU connector
- 2 x 6+2 pin PCIe connectors
- 4 x Molex 4 pin peripheral connectors
- 6 x SATA peripheral connectors
- 1 x FDD peripheral connector
In my opinion only 2 PCIe connectors is a bad decision. How are you even going to get close to using 650W when you can only support one high end graphics card?
