The first thing you’ll notice about the GX1200 is it’s quite heavy-handed in its use of plastics, there’s an oversized front panel and top panel, which gives it a pretty curvy, and almost retro-futurism appearance. There’s a large side panel window on the left side, ideal for showing off your hardware, and two thumb screws at the back for easy access.
Nothing fancy around this side, just a solid black panel.
the front panel really does look unique, with a huge ventilated section and those sweeping trim sections. The design is a bit marmite, looking like something sculpted out of leftovers from a Cylon head, but I rather like it.
Around the back, a 120mm fan mount, although the fan isn’t included there are two in the front, so stock airflow should be pretty decent. There are seven expansion slots, each with a reusable and ventilated metal cover, and below that, the PSU cut out; that’s all the basics covered.
There’s a lot more ventilation on the top panel, perfect for any top mounted cooling, as well as passive heat exhaust.
At the front, two audio jacks, a lighting control switch for the front LED fans, the power switch with an Antec “A” design, and dual USB 3.0 ports.
The underside has good ground clearance thanks to four rubber topped feet, giving plenty of airflow to the PSU air intake, which comes fitted with a slide-out and washable dust filter.
