The Antec GX330 varies in price from store to store. I’ve seen it range from as low as £40 to £60, so shopping around couldn’t hurt. It’s also available in white too, giving you a little more choice at the till. Personally, I’d be wanting some change from £50 and would get the black one. It’s not expensive, obviously, but I think the little details add up to a good value budget chassis.
So it’s not out to take over the world with innovation and design. It’s a cheap chassis and it bears the marks as such. There’s a lot of plastic on the front and top panels, and no tempered glass. However, it doesn’t look like a bad chassis as a result. Sure, style is subjective, but you’ll be hard pushed to tell me that our final build didn’t look pretty great in the end.
Everything is pretty good here, nothing over the top really, but if you want rock solid build materials, you’ll be expecting to pay more money too. That being said, they’ve made sure that all the things needed are taken care of. You still get dust filters, albeit rudimentary ones. You get reusable expansion slot covers, rather than snap off ones. There are cable routing holes, despite no grommets. Even the HDD trays are removable and modular.
Again, there are a good few extras here that make this already affordable chassis even better value for money. The little L-shaped bracket that can help support a longer GPU is a really nice touch, albeit a subtle one. Having two fans pre-installed is a welcome addition too, giving you all the airflow you’ll need for most low to mid-budget system builds. The fact they’re equipped with blue LEDs, and that matching blue LED light bar on the front, that’s a cherry on top. Finally, a built-in three speed (off, low, and high) fan control on the front panel.
It’s not like everyone sets out with the ambition of buying a “cheap” chassis like this. It’s a budget box, and it’s going to be something you buy to keep within a budget. However, Antec’s put in some effort here to add as much value for the consumer as they possibly can, without jacking up the price. If you’re looking for plenty of features and a unique looking gaming chassis, you’ll find a lot to love here.
