Antec Introduce the SOLO II chassis
Andy Ruffell / 13 years ago
Antec have released details of their new mid-tower chassis the SOLO II aimed at enthusiasts, going against the recent trend of moving the PSU this chassis places it back at the top of the case but with good reason, as you can see in the images the drive bays don’t go the usual route of floor to ceiling within the case therefore there’s quite a bit of room for the longest of graphics cards in fact up to 15 inches or 381mm.
The case has two USB 3.0 ports on the front but with an internal header and two USB 2.0 ports as well, the case also has PSU rails which are removable making installation easier, the motherboard tray CPU cut-out has also been increased in size to accommodate most if not all CPU socket positions.
The air filters are “easy access” with a hinged door opening for removal and cleaning, the are two drive bays for optical drives or fan controllers etc, there is also room for three HDD’s with the option to use the tool-less suspension mounts and has a dedicated SSD mount on the motherboard tray, the case is built with 1mm steel with a polycarbonate coating for sound deadening, below the PSU mount there is a standard 120mm exhaust fitted with a TrueQuiet fan, on the roof is a mesh air intake for the PSU to cool itself.
