Performance

Stock temperature performance is respectable, beating out the Ereboss quite nicely. It’s not the best performance we’ve seen but it is well within the performance levels we would expect from this price range.

Stock CPU Temperature

While not loud enough to be really noticeable there was an audible fan noise from the 650, although this would easily be masked with the cooler mounted in a chassis.

With the clocks dialled up the 650 still can’t catch up with the similar priced Thermalright air cooler and while the cooling performance still of the 650 isn’t anything incredible it is still remains respectable for its price range.

Overclocked CPU Temperature

This is where the 650 fell short, noise levels on the integrated PWM fan picked up to 48dBA, giving of an audible hum. You can lower the fan speed on your motherboard, but this would of course push up the temperature. The obvious solution here would be to mount a second fan and set them both at a slightly lower RPM to keep the same temperature performance at a lower noise level.
