Antec Officially Launches the Torque Open-Air Chassis

Antec Goes Beyond the Box

Remember the unique ‘Torque’ case that Antec India posted on Facebook last month? Well it is now officially launched and is a welcome change to the usual Antec offerings. After all, they had the Antec Skeleton and LAN-Boy Air cases which were definitely wild for their time.

The Toruqe uses tempered glass panels and has an open-air design. We actually saw this case at Computex 2018 inside Antec’s suite. It went by the name ‘Project X’ then, but Torque seems to be more fitting due to the design cues taken from a motorcycle. The chassis measures 621 x 285 x 644 mm and uses 4mm thick tempered glass.

Motherboard support includes standard ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX. Despite the tall height, it actually fits components like a regular mid-tower case. The angle however, provides additional room for a radiator up top. In fact, up to three 120mm fans or a 360mm radiator can be installed at the top and in front. Plus, it offers easy access and maintenance for upgrades.

Although one thing that the Torque certainly lacks is the storage space since there is only room for one 2.5″ and one 3.5″ HDD.

How Much is the Antec Torque Chassis?

The CNC machined aluminium and tempered-glass Torque chassis has an MSRP of €379 with VAT. So it is certainly in the high-end of cases price-wise. In comparison, its closest competitor which is Cougar’s Conquer open-air tempered-glass chassis retails for €259.90.
