The Antec P101 Silent Mid-Tower PC Case costs about £100. That’s obviously a lot of money, but when you take this thing out of the box, you can really feel it’s a quality product. It’s big and it’s heavy, so you’re paying for a fair whack of raw materials here. Plus, it comes with four high-quality pre-installed fans, as well as lashings of noise dampening materials. Overall, I think the whole package is really good value for money.
I love the more serious side of Antec, and I’ve often felt their P-series cases are some of the best in the business. The P380 was awesome, ok it was 7 years ago, but I still like that case, and The P9 from 4 years ago and a bunch more really. My point is, Antec has been making their durable mid-tower range for a very long time now, and it’s still going strong.
While this new case may not appeal to many gamers, it’s still well enough equipped to cater to them. Not everyone wants RGB, not everyone wants tempered glass or even a window at all. Does the GPU look pretty? Many people don’t give a damn, to be honest. My own PC is purple lit, braided cables and you know what, I haven’t looked at it under my desk for months. While you can’t see the interior of the build, the added benefit of the noise isolation is fantastic. This is going to be a very quiet build and if you want a PC that’s not seen or heard, this is the right way to go.
Antec has really designed this thing to survive. It’s very robust and heavy. The frame is thicker, the steel is thicker, it just feels robust. You could give it a good kick and I think it’ll be just fine. That’s important too, as if you’re sticking 12 hard drives in this running your server, you don’t need it falling to bits every time someone bangs their chair into it.
Having all the HDD bays full modular is a big benefit too, as you can build to suit your needs. Removing some does free up room for enormous graphics cards and even radiators if you desire. However, the raw cooling performance from those four built-in fans is more than enough for most. Furthermore, the addition of a built-in fan speed control gives you all the silent or cooling you need in seconds.
