Antec P6 Micro-ATX Tempered Glass Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Antec P6 Performance Mid-Tower Micro-ATX Chassis is available now from a few major retailers, with an average price of around £60. That’s a lot of chassis for very little money. Sure, the market is competitive right now, and you can find similar from other big brands for the same price, but that’s no bad thing.

Overview

There’s nothing about this chassis that really innovates or blows me away, but I don’t think it was ever designed to do so. Of course, I could say the same about almost any chassis in this price range. It’s not a flagship case, it’s meant to be affordable, and there are a few minor signs of that.

Build Quality

Antec is well known for having a strong internal structure on their chassis, and that’s still holding true here. The panels are nice and think, more so than quite a few chassis in this price range. There’s a lot of plastic on the front panel, but it’s been given a lightly textured matte finish that blends well with the paintwork both inside and out of the chassis.

Features

Antec has done well to tick a lot of boxes here. The inclusion of a PSU cover is a big benefit to cable management and hides the HDD bays out of sight too. Having four more hard drive mounts behind the motherboard is a big boon to ergonomics, and keeps the build looking very clean overall. There are dust filters on the front, top and bottom of the case too, so airflow will be nice and clean. The addition of a 120mm LED fan in the rear is welcome, although a second one in the front would have been nice too.

Tempered Glass

A window is a great way of turning an otherwise standard chassis into something that looks and feels more premium. It’s certainly worked here, and the P6 really does look great. Of course, it provides a pleasant stage to showcase your hardware too, and it’s very easy to get a nice looking build here.

Should I Buy One

At £60, you’ll be hard pushed to not find this chassis very good value for money. It’s got a solid range of features and is well suited to most mid-size gaming PC builds. If you’re after good build quality, a clean looking system, and a well-known brand name, you can’t go wrong with the P6.

  1. Hi Peter, thanks for your detailed review. I’ve got a couple of questions that I’m hoping you’ve got answers to:

    1. If you wanted to fit 2x120mm/140mm fans between the front cover and the chassis shell, so that I can fit just a 240mm/280mm AIO before the PSU shroud, could you? This is because most radiator+fan thicknesses exceed the specified 55mm, and I thought sticking the fans on the outside might be doable, since there is a bit of a ‘well’ for the fans to sit in, no?

    and

    2. Since there is the option to fit 3x120mm or 2x140mm fans up top, why wouldn’t it be feasible to fit a 240mm/280mm AIO, seeing as there shouldn’t be any chance of interfering with the rear 120mm fan, and there aren’t any 5.25″ bays to hamper such installation? The only reason I can think of is that any radiator would collide with the top of any mobo VRM heatsinks.

Sorry to trouble you, but I’ve reached out to Antec a couple of times, and not heard a word back, sooo…
