Antec Reveals Something We Didn’t Expect… A SteamDeck Rival!

Antec is just full of surprises today, as they revealed the debut of the Antec Core HS, in what appears to be their take on the portable PC gaming market, alongside rivals like Valve SteamDeck, MSI Claw, and ASUS Ally, to name but a few. It looks like they’re not mucking about either, as the specifications look very promising, and the design is pretty fantastic too.
Antec Core HS
It features the latest Windows 11 operating system, a large screen with a slide-up design that reveals a full keyboard below it, which could make it surprisingly versatile, but it does lack the touch panels we see on the Valve Steamdeck, but depending on what kind of games you play, that either is or isn’t a deal breaker for you.
What Antec Had to Say
“At Antec, we embarked on the journey of creating the Antec Core HS by asking fundamental questions: ‘Why? Why is this necessary? How can we enhance the lives of our users? We strive to engineer technology that transcends mere functionality to genuinely enrich daily interactions and activities. The Antec Core HS epitomizes this ethos. It is not just designed to meet but to surpass the expectations of future users, empowering them to accomplish more, regardless of their location or the complexity of their tasks.” – Antec CEO, Frank Lee
Antec + AYANEO
Antec has partnered with AYANEO to create this device, which makes sense, as AYANEO has years of experience making these things, and they’re pretty darn popular too. It looks like it is based almost entirely on the AYANEO SLIDE, which features the Ryzen 7 7840U, M.2 PCI 4.0 storage (up to 4TB supported), 7500MHZ LPDDR5X memory, 46.2Wh battery, and an IPS Full HD display.
Price and Availability
All is unknown right now, but the unveiling of the Antec Core HS will take place at a highly anticipated launch event in Taipei, Taiwan. Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to experience first-hand the innovative design and unparalleled capabilities of the Core HS, solidifying its position as the pinnacle of handheld computing.
We’ve already reached out to Antec to secure a sample because we’re just like you, we really want to play on one!
