Keeping in shape with the simple design of the Solo II, all sides of the chassis (except the rear) are finished in piano black. Only downfall with this type of finish is that each and every single time you touch the case, you will leave a finger print, as noted by the print by the rear lock that I missed during a clean down! A wipe over with a microfibre cloth does bring that shine back however.
Above the PSU area is a grill in the chassis to allow for a fresh air flow into your PSU depending on the orientation you go for.
The rear of the chassis only offers airflow via a vent next to the expansion bays as well as the rear 120mm fan. Below the fan is a switch for alternating between high and low fan speeds.
As part of keeping resonant noise to a minimum, the four feet on the base of the chassis are made from a softer silicone compound.
Antec have recognised that USB 3.0 is becoming more and more the standard in the industry and so as to distinguish the Solo II have included two USB 3.0 ports on the front I/O panel along with two USB 2.0. The usual audio jacks finish the I/O off. Antec have also allowed an ample space between each port for connecting wider USB devices.
