Antec Solo II Mid Tower Chassis Review

With our test system installed, the initial response I had was wow! With a layout of this sort and the cable management system that is installed, I was a little dubious to be honest that it would be at all possible to keep it all tidy inside. How wrong could I be?

Likewise on the rear side, its clear how simple yet effective the cable management system is, everything neatly flows in and out to the rest of the chassis. The area around which there is to work behind the CPU socket is massive, in fact Antec state that it pushes the limits of how big it can be whilst still maintaining the right amount of structural integrity of the tray.

Seeing as the Solo II has reduced the number of drive bays to allow for the smaller dimensions and compatibility with longer GPUs, Antec have made space on the motherboard tray for fitting an SSD.

Fitting hard drives into the tool less suspension option is not only simple, but the only noise heard from the case was that of the drive head moving back and forth. Do note that if you are looking to transport your system inside this case then hard drives should either be removed or bolted to the trays in order to prevent any damage from occurring.

The power LED surrounds the power switch with a nice soft glow that is not too bright and therefore conflicting with the overall case design.

Even though Antec have aimed to make the chassis as small as possible they have allowed an amount of extra space between the exhaust fan and power supply tray to enable the fitting of all in one water cooling solutions especially their Khuler H2O solutions.
