Ok so now we’ve got the basics out of the way, we’ve had a closer look at the light strips and obviously it’s a fairly straightforward product with only a couple of features, so how does it perform?

Well as you can see in the image below I have mounted it behind my 23″ LG monitor, I use this monitor daily for work and gaming. The lighting kit says it can handle a 24″ monitor and that seems to be true as I had no trouble making it fit here. I have the kit turned on and you can see it is projecting a soft while light on the wall which is 6″ away from the back of my monitor.

It’s a little easier to see with the monitor off, but overall my camera didn’t like me today and the overall effect looks much better in person than it does in the pictures. The room is a lot darker than you might think here too, demonstrated by the non existent reflections on the glossy monitor casing.

With the monitor turned around you can really how the strip lighting works. I’ve stuck it right across the middle of my screen so that it provides evenly distributed light around the edges of the monitor.
