Antec Twelve Hundred V3 Chassis Review

InteriorBeing a full tower case, there is a lot of room to work with inside the Antec 1200. Up in the top left corner of the case there are two 120mm exhaust fans attached to the rear of the case and a single 200mm fan in the roof of the case. Further down the left hand side there are seven replaceable expansions slot covers which are secured using normal screws. It would have been nice to see Antec using thumbscrews here considering the price of the case.

Down at the bottom of the case there are four rubber feet protruding from the floor for the PSU to sit on. Rather unusually, there isn’t a vent in the bottom of the case for the PSU fan. There should be enough room for air to get into the PSU with the fan facing downwards but, for the best results, it would be better to install it facing upwards.

Over on the right of the case we find Antec’s rather unusual drive bay configuration. There is room for twelve 5.25” bays in total but up to nine of these can be populated using 3.5” internal drives using the provided caddies. This means your options when installing drives into the case are very flexible.

There are a number of holes cut into the motherboard tray for cable routing and there is plenty of room behind the motherboard tray for routing the cables. There is also a very large cutout in the motherboard tray for installing CPU cooler backplates which should be sizable enough for pretty much any cooler on the market.

  1. I have just purchased this case and it looks awesome, but as with any case it has its flaws as in not being able to mount your HDD within the parameters of the case. Upon trying to mount the HDD. it will assume to fit, but the front screws will only mount. The back side of the HDD will stick out and in the air.
