Anycubic Kobra Max 3D Printer Review

3D Printing is still very much a growing market. There are hundreds of different types of printers available from many different providers and they are constantly improving speed, print quality, and price. The versatility of 3D printing is also evolving, allowing anything from a replica Iron Man suit to a literal entire house. Personally, I use a Prusa i3 MK3S+ at home that I built myself from a kit and have been using it to print a large variety of things from replicas of props to a phone stand for my desk.

Anycubic Kobra Max

We have been provided with a new printer from Anycubic, the Kobra Max. Part of the new Kobra range, this printer is a beast in terms of size, whilst being far from the largest printer out there, this printer is teetering the edge of what someone is realistically likely to buy for their home, and if you did buy a printer this size then you’d likely need a studio or office to keep it in so it doesn’t take up too much living space.

With so many 3D printers on the market, it’s a fight to be the brand that a consumer will end up choosing. Many printers come in at low prices and make compromises to usability or print quality with the understanding that the low price tag is what will draw people in, making money because of the number of people buying them is high. Some printers take a different approach, aiming for a “premium” market with very expensive pre-built machines that produce very high quality prints. So where does the Kobra Max sit in this market? Is it trying to be accessible or more enthusiast? And where does its pricing place it in the ranks of 3D printers? Shall we find out?
