A Closer Look

First up, we have the back of the monitor, as you need to attach both the stand and the base when you take it out of the box. As you can see, it features four VESA screws on the back, so you can use your own stand or wall mount if you have one.

It may be a small monitor, but it’s well connected, with two HDMI ports, and a single DisplayPort, as well as the older VGA connection. There are also separate jacks for both a microphone and headphones.

Built into the monitor is a USB hub, with four ports, allowing you to hook up various peripherals and storage devices directly to the display.

Plus, it uses a standard power cable, with no external power supply, which is always great to see.

On the bottom edge, there are five buttons for the OSD. This isn’t the best UI control system, but given the lower price of the monitor, I can live with it.

The back of the mount just clips into the display, no tools are required.

Then the base screws on with a single thumbscrew, again, tool-free and it only took a few seconds to assemble.

The panel looks great, with a flat 24″ Full HD panel, that has a really decent anti-glare coating. You only have to look at my desk and background to see how strong the lighting is in here today, and it’s hardly reflecting on the display.

The monitor is mostly black, with a tiny bit of red trim at the bottom and on the stand. There’s also a simple AOC logo printed on to the surprisingly slim black bezel.

The monitor is lightweight, so adjustments can be made with one hand. It can be raised quite significantly on that stand too.

Or pushed down low, so you can easily find your optimal height.

There’s a good range of rotation too, so tilting it away from the sun, or turning it to show your friends some memes, are both easily achieved.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see it has a portrait mode built in too, which is great for work, or deploying it as a secondary monitor.
