Getting a great gaming experience or a competitive edge in eSports and online gaming doesn’t have to be as expensive as you might think. However, at 24″ the AOC Gaming 24G2SPU may be a little compact, but that’s easily fixed by sitting a little closer to the screen. However, what it lacks in size, it really delivers in other aspects. The 24G2SPU features a lightning-fast 165Hz refresh rate, which comes with a 1ms MPRT mode, it’s G-Sync compatible, FreeSync Premium, and IPS too. That’s certainly ticking all the right boxes for gaming, and the resolution of 1920 x 1080 should have more than enough pixels for a clear image relative to the panel size too.

However, what really got my attention on this monitor is that its MSRP is just £169.99, but at the time of writing it’s on sale for just £147.96. Furthermore, while it may take an Nvidia RTX 4090 to get high-refresh rates at 4K, at Full-HD a much more modest or older graphics card can do 165Hz in competitive games with relative ease these days. Plus, if you’ve got a modern games console, it’ll support their native 120Hz performance modes too, so you can enjoy high-refresh rates from multiple sources!
