Getting a great gaming experience or a competitive edge in eSports and online gaming doesn’t have to be as expensive as you might think. Of course, you will have to make some compromises to save yourself money, such as screen size. However, at 24″ the AOC Gaming 24G2SPU may be a little compact, but that’s easily fixed by sitting a little closer to the screen. However, what it lacks in size, it really delivers in other aspects. The 24G2SPU features a lightning-fast 165Hz refresh rate, which comes with a 1ms MPRT mode, it’s G-Sync compatible, FreeSync Premium, and IPS too. That’s certainly ticking all the right boxes for gaming, and the resolution of 1920 x 1080 should have more than enough pixels for a clear image relative to the panel size too.
However, what really got my attention on this monitor is that its MSRP is just £169.99, but at the time of writing it’s on sale for just £147.96. Furthermore, while it may take an Nvidia RTX 4090 to get high-refresh rates at 4K, at Full-HD a much more modest or older graphics card can do 165Hz in competitive games with relative ease these days. Plus, if you’ve got a modern games console, it’ll support their native 120Hz performance modes too, so you can enjoy high-refresh rates from multiple sources!
