Calibration
Right out of the box, this monitor is kicking out some great colours and its accuracy is simply excellent. Virtually all monitors these days are calibrated with a cold white setting, and it looks awful and it’s inaccurate too. This monitor actually comes set to the Warm profile, and it’s all the better for it, with a really accurate white point that makes movies and games look warm and vibrant, but also accurate.
Barely half a hair off Gamma 2.2 which is certainly a very good result I’d expect from a premium monitor.
A really smooth grey ramp with a very small deviation and certainly a much higher response than I usually see on this test.
Out of the box, the colours were superb, but some weird results for the black levels. However, the colours are exceptional, delivering a Delta-E of less than 2 on average.
I ran a quick calibration and the results improved drastically according to the sensor, but honestly, I think just tweaking brightness and contrast to suit your taste is all that’s needed, as both results looked extremely similar to the human eye, which is to say they look excellent.
